Terms of service

These terms explain the services available on brickcode.it, the requirements for using the site and how to report problems.

  1. § 1General provisions

    Use of brickcode.it (the "Site") is governed by these terms, issued under Article 8 of the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means.

    Services on the Site are provided by Jakub Uchman-Lach, a sole proprietor trading as brickCode Jakub Uchman-Lach (the "Provider"). Address: ul. gen. Felicjana Sławoja Składkowskiego 3 lok. 103, 02-497 Warszawa, Poland. Tax ID (NIP): 5223161642, REGON: 383583625, email: contact@brickcode.it.

    Anyone who uses the Site is a user. You can read these terms on the Site free of charge before using any service. They remain available to view, save or print at any time.

  2. § 2Services on the Site

    On the Site, you can do the following free of charge:

    • browse the portfolio, project descriptions, information about me and ways to work together, and use interactive features such as the terminal, keyboard shortcuts and accent color picker,
    • send me a message or ask about working together through the contact form.

  3. § 3Information about working together

    The descriptions of services and ways to work together are provided for information only. They constitute an invitation to negotiate under Article 71 of the Polish Civil Code, rather than an offer under Article 66.

    For each project, we agree on the scope, timeline and fee individually and record them in a separate contract. Sending a message through the form places neither party under an obligation to enter into that contract.

  4. § 4Technical requirements

    Using the Site requires:

    • a device connected to the internet,
    • a current version of a browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, with JavaScript enabled; disabling it prevents some interactive features from working,
    • an active email address when using the contact form.

  5. § 5Entering into and ending the agreement

    Opening the Site forms an agreement to browse its content. Leaving the Site ends that agreement.

    You enter into an agreement to use the contact form by starting to fill it in. The agreement ends once you send the message or decide against sending it.

    There is no charge for either service. Closing the Site lets you stop using them at any time, with no reason required and no costs to pay.

  6. § 6Acceptable use

    Use of the Site must comply with the law and good practice. The following, in particular, are prohibited:

    • providing unlawful content, including material that is offensive or infringes the rights of others,
    • sending spam, advertisements or messages with malware or links to malware,
    • using another person's details in the form or impersonating someone else,
    • interfering with the Site's operation, including attempted unauthorized access, attacks or mass messaging.

  7. § 7Risks and software in your browser

    Common online risks include malware, phishing and the interception of data transmitted over unsecured networks. The Site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. Keeping your browser and system up to date helps reduce the risk further. At no point do I request passwords or payment details through the Site.

    Your browser runs the Site's Umami statistics script and stores three technical settings. The Privacy policy explains what they do and why they are used.

  8. § 8Copyright

    Copyright protects the Site's content, including its text, graphics, animations, code and the brickCode logo. The Provider holds these rights unless otherwise stated. Use within the limits of fair use is permitted. Anything beyond those limits requires my permission.

    Company, product and technology names appear on the Site solely for information. They belong to their respective owners.

  9. § 9Liability

    I make sure the Site runs properly and continuously. Technical interruptions are still possible, for example when updates are installed or the service providers I use experience outages.

    Links on the Site also lead to external services, including GitHub, LinkedIn and project websites. Their content and operation are not my responsibility.

    These limitations do not apply where excluding or limiting liability is prohibited by law, particularly consumer protection law.

  10. § 10Complaints

    To raise a complaint about the Site, you can email contact@brickcode.it. A description of the problem, when it occurred and the outcome you expect will help me handle it.

    Within 14 days of receiving your complaint, I'll respond by email.

    Consumers also have access to out-of-court dispute resolution, including assistance from a municipal or district consumer ombudsman or a regional Trade Inspection office in Poland. Details are available at uokik.gov.pl.

  11. § 11Personal data

    The Privacy policy at brickcode.it/en/privacy explains how personal data is processed. It also covers hosting, message delivery and statistics.

  12. § 12Final provisions

    The date at the top of this page is when these terms take effect.

    Changes to these terms may be made for important reasons, including changes in the law, the services offered or the technical infrastructure. A revised version takes effect on the day it is published on the Site and does not apply to agreements made before then.

    Polish law applies to matters these terms do not cover, particularly the Civil Code and the Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means. As a consumer living outside Poland, you retain the protection of your country's mandatory laws despite the choice of Polish law.

    A Polish version of these terms is also available and takes precedence if the versions differ.
